Wood, Rails & Joinery
Most Uryan wooden cases use lightweight, patterned Paulownia wood sourced from Spain. The cabinet joinery uses glue and dowels; the rails are mounted with black anodised aluminium side brackets. Eurorack modules mount to aluminium rails with M3 threaded bars.
Basic Series cases use 15 mm plywood, screw-fixed construction and a smoothly sanded surface. The exact materials and dimensions for each case are listed on its product page.
Curved or Straight to Top?
Curved: the lower and upper rows angle towards you. This can make upper modules easier to reach while seated, particularly on taller cases above 17U.
Straight to top: the lower rows angle towards you, followed by upright rows. This suits smaller formats and can also suit taller systems used while standing.
Consider your desk height, seating position and the modules you reach for most often. The examples below show both layouts, with and without lighting.
Build Time & Handmade Variation
Cases are made to order. I’ll give you an estimated build time for the chosen configuration and current workload. Wood grain and small details can vary between builds; the product description specifies the technical configuration.
Integrated Power for Your Rack
Choose your power configuration from the current requirements of your modules on each rail, the number of connections and your expansion plans. Send your ModularGrid rack or module list for help choosing the right system.
F-PWR System
Larger cases use a 120 W / 6 A external power brick and an internal power supply with multiple stages of filtering. Its DC–DC converters are fitted with heat sinks. Each filtered busboard provides 20 module connections. The system includes four layers of protection and three layers of noise filtering. Mains voltage stays in the external adapter.
Output ratings: +12 V: 5 A; -12 V: 2.5 A; +5 V: 2 A.
NanoPWR and NanoPWR Mini
NanoPWR and NanoPWR Mini combine an internal power supply with multiple stages of filtering and a busboard, powered by a 60 W / 3.33 A external brick. Their DC–DC converters are fitted with heat sinks. NanoPWR has 22 module connections and NanoPWR Mini has 14.
Output ratings for both: +12 V: 2.5 A; -12 V: 1.25 A; +5 V: 1.2 A, switchable.
Check the power configuration included with your chosen case. Additional PSUs or busboards are available as upgrades where the format allows. EU, US and UK power cords are available with the systems described above.
Finishes and Details
Standard finishes include natural varnish, walnut, black, burned wood and wild cherry. Hardwax, raw wood and other finishes can be discussed for your build. View finish samples.
The cases stand on Adam Hall rubber feet and have rear ventilation openings. Optional dimmable NoSpot RGB lighting sits in a recessed aluminium profile and includes a remote control and EU adapter.
The lighting adapter is separate from the Eurorack power system. Its published specification is 100-240 V / 0.5 A input, 24 V / 1 A / 24 W output, and a 5.5 x 2.1 mm centre-positive plug. Contact me to confirm compatibility before sourcing a different adapter.
