Vaelyra Stryn is a free resonant string and pluck synthesizer designed for expressive digital-acoustic sounds, cinematic plucks, unusual string textures, resonant basses, metallic strikes, glass-like tones and organic hybrid instruments.

Rather than trying to reproduce a traditional acoustic instrument, Vaelyra Stryn explores the character of an imagined futuristic string instrument.

Familiar elements such as plucking, striking, resonance, damping, body material and sympathetic vibration are combined into sounds that can feel wooden, metallic, crystalline, hollow, dark or completely otherworldly.

The streamlined single-page interface is built around three large sound-shaping controls.

Exciter determines how the sound is initiated, from softer contacts and plucks to harder metallic or percussive attacks.

Stryn Core selects the main resonant body character, including wood, glass, crystal, metal, hollow and dark-body variations.

String defines the vibration and resonance behaviour, allowing the instrument to move between focused plucks, harmonic strings, overtone-rich textures and more unusual resonant responses.

A carefully selected set of macro controls makes deeper sound shaping fast and musical.

Tone, Body, Damp, Width, Space, Air and Warmth can transform the overall character without interrupting the creative flow.

Additional Glow, Chorus, Ensemble, Dimension, Reverb and Glass controls provide instant access to width, ambience, brightness and spatial detail.

Four performance modes allow the instrument to adapt to different systems and production situations. Full mode provides the richest processing, while Optimal, CPU Saver and Ultra Saver offer progressively lighter alternatives for larger projects or less powerful computers.
