Nythera Corda has been updated to version 1.0.1.

This update focuses on improving the feel, clarity and musical response of the free version. The large main orb controls have been refined for smoother and more reliable selector behaviour, making the central ensemble-shaping workflow clearer, more intuitive and more enjoyable to use.

The interface has also been visually updated and polished, giving Nythera Corda a cleaner and more refined main-page experience. The macro control ranges have been adjusted to provide stronger and more clearly audible sound changes, so shaping the ensemble character feels more immediate and useful in real musical situations.

The lower control section has also been improved with dedicated ADSR envelope knobs, giving faster access to the essential attack, decay, sustain and release behaviour of the sound.

Version 1.0.1 makes Nythera Corda more expressive, more practical and more enjoyable to play, while keeping its identity as a free cinematic ensemble strings synth with an otherworldly digital-acoustic character.

Nythera Corda is a free otherworldly ensemble strings synth designed for cinematic layers, emotional string-like textures, wide atmospheric movement and futuristic digital-acoustic ensemble sounds.

It is not a traditional orchestral string instrument and does not try to reproduce a real violin section, viola ensemble or symphonic string library. Instead, Nythera Corda explores the idea of an imagined alien string ensemble: expressive, spacious, synthetic, organic and slightly unfamiliar.

The sound can move between soft cinematic pads, dark ensemble layers, shimmering atmospheric textures, evolving string-like drones, wide emotional backgrounds and strange digital-acoustic tones that feel as if they come from another world.

At the heart of Nythera Corda is the Ensemble Core.

This central control defines the main ensemble character, from more focused and intimate string sections to wider, more spectral, divided or otherworldly ensemble behaviours. It shapes the foundation of the instrument and gives each sound its own identity before the rest of the controls refine the movement, space and expression.

The interface is built around three large sound-shaping areas.

Gesture controls the expressive movement of the sound. It can shape the feeling of swell, performance energy, motion and dynamic behaviour, helping the sound breathe and move instead of remaining static.

Ensemble Core selects the main ensemble character and defines how the digital string body behaves at the center of the instrument.

Field controls the surrounding spatial and atmospheric character, adding width, halo, depth and environmental presence around the sound.

Together, these three controls make it easy to create large cinematic ensemble textures without needing a complex multi-page workflow.

A carefully selected set of macro controls gives direct access to the most important musical details.

Dynamics adjusts the overall expressive response and intensity of the sound.

Density controls how full, layered and populated the ensemble feels.

Spread widens the sound and helps create a broader stereo image.

Tension changes the emotional pressure and inner movement of the ensemble.

Brightness adjusts the upper harmonic presence and clarity.

Air adds openness, breath and high-frequency space.

Release controls how long the sound continues after the note is released, allowing anything from shorter playable textures to longer cinematic tails.

Additional controls such as Attack, Chorus, Ensemble, Dimension, Reverb and Shimmer provide instant access to movement, width, depth, ambience and polished spatial detail.
